Tiffen Dfx 3 Review
Being professional journalists and photographers and having used other plug-in software programs, we thought, why look at another software program? Now that we have toyed around Tiffen’s Dfx we know why there is so much excitement about this incredible program!
We tried out Tiffen’s Dfx 3 Lightroom and Photoshop stand-alone photography program that simulates glass filters, lenses, film grains and more. Before this program, photographers had to decide before going out to shoot which filters they were going to take on each assignment and the one you needed was probably the one that you did not take! Today, with digital processing and software from Tiffen, they can all be reproduced in post processing. The “Tiffen Dfx” version 3 makes a remarkably wide range of choices available to reproduce filters, gels, film grains, lab processes color corrections and photographic effects.
We used the stand-alone Version for Photoshop CS6. We found the interface rather easy to get through without even using the tutorial before attempting to use the program. You could also able customize the interface which we liked. We did not watch a demo or read a manual so when we started, we had no idea how to navigate through this program. Getting through to all of the filters was very easy to do. We found this software to be the easiest to navigate through than most other software programs.
When in Photoshop or Lightroom, choose Edit and in Tiffen Dfx a new window opens full screen, with large images to see the results of the filters as we picked them. We were not restricted to only one effect either as they can be stacked until we found the result we wanted.
There are too many filters to discuss in just one review. However, whatever you want to do is probably available. There are many ways of masking which are all in there for you to use to get your photograph perfect! There are subtle and not so subtle effects that you are able to create. The best part is that it can be done within seconds with “Tiffen Dfx 3” software. Now that you are convinced that you need this exceptional software, try their 15-day free trial.
